Think Plastics Inc.
Think Plastics’ has received some federal funding assistance. The Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) is a non-profit, grass-roots coalition of 62 agricultural, agri-business and rural organizations. The ACC is dedicated to providing financial resources to assist Ontario's agriculture and agri-food industry in remaining profitable, growing and maintaining it's economic strength. The AAC receives the majority of its funding through Ontario’s share of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s five year, 240-million dollar Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) program. In 2004, the AAC provided a grant of $42,390 under the CanAdapt program to help Think Plastics establish municipal collection sites for used plastic bale wrap. In 2005, the AAC further demonstrated its support by providing a $200,000 loan to help establish the Think Plastics’ recycling and manufacturing facility in New Hamburg, and a $30,000 grant to help with lab testing of Baleboard®, website development and advertising. The AAC Board and staff have also provided invaluable industry expertise and guidance along the way.
Think Plastics has also received some reimbursement for Research & Development through the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SRED) program.
